Cybeles Life Science now be able to offer GWC's versatile label-free detection systems to researchers throughout South East Asia.
Cybeles Life Science today announced an agreement with GWC Technologies Inc. under which Cybeles will distribute GWC’s versatile label-free detection systems to researchers throughout Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, delivering powerful and affordable solutions for the most rapidly growing areas of life science research. GWC’s products are used in proteomics analysis, drug discovery research and diagnostics development. A key distinction of GWC’s label-free systems is their flexible array format, which delivers superior throughput and greater experimental rigor than do alternative formats.
According to Tim Burland, GWC’s President & CEO, “Cybeles Life Science has a team with more than 20 years proven experience in the molecular biotechnology market. The company has excellent application support and customer orientation, along with a successful track record in marketing, sales and support of products for biotechnology research. GWC Technologies developed the first commercial label-free detection system capable of science research. The company develops, manufactures and markets label-free detection systems for: - Detection of biomolecular interactions, and - Measurements of surface film thickness. GWC's technology platform is centered on Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), an electro-optical effect that facilitates measurements of surface changes largely independent of the chemical nature of surface molecules. No label is needed for SPR measurements, so experimental perturbations induced by fluorescent or other molecular tags are eliminated. This makes SPR suitable for a wide variety of life science applications, including proteomics, gene expression analysis and systems biology. Several of GWC's products are based on scientific innovations from the research of Professor Robert M. Corn and colleagues.
